We can fulfill your needs from Poster Prints, Banners, Signs, Window Cling Graphics, Custom Wallpaper, Custom Fabric, Floor Graphics to Elaborate Trade Show Displays.
The Digital Fringe was started in 1999 by Jeffrey Levine. With 19 years of experience in graphics supply and equipment distribution, Jeff brought along the same efficient just-in-time processing practices that had been essential to his success there. With both businesses being very much event-driven, this was a good mix
In 2001, Jane McCoy, one of his longtime business cohorts became available, and Jeff quickly offered her a partnership in the Fringe. Jane had 21 years of experience in Graphics Printing, Operations management, Sales and Customer service, which turned out to be a great combination for the Fringe. As president, Jane and her dog Astro expertly grew the Fringe and eventually earned controlling interest in 2009. As president and now majority stockholder, Jane and the Fringe are a Woman-owned success story. We qualify as a Woman-owned Small business as defined by the SBA guidelines.
The graphics market is fast-moving and timeline requirements are almost always based around events that are not flexible. Our output is what represents our customers, so it demands high quality. And creating innovative displays that are out of the ordinary can get complicated. We are here when you need us, ready to collaborate on specific project solutions, with the capacity to get it done before your event passes you by. As you’ll see, we try not to take ourselves too seriously; but we put every effort into taking our customer’s needs very seriously.
This philosophy has enabled The Fringe to grow almost entirely by referrals. You will rarely see us advertise and we don’t have salespeople; our customers are our salespeople. When we deliver quality work that meets an aggressive deadline, people tell other people about it.
We don’t print business cards. We don’t print brochures. We don’t do brand design and we don’t silkscreen; we print Large Format Digital Graphics.
Our staff welcomes the opportunity to take a consultative approach in meeting your needs. Estimates and advice are always free, just call or email or stop by.
We guarantee you will have a great experience!
Digital Fringe can create your output from many various file types.More
Follow the link "MORE" below for our basic steps for uploading your files to our FTP if you're comfortable with it. Otherwise, please use the options as noted on the right with "File Transfer Options."More
Email = Easiest – We have some really large limits set up for our email so if your outbound settings can handle it just email us the file and we will reply to confirm it made it through. This has the added benefit of being able to document the typical needed info right there in the same email:
We Transfer = 2GB file limit – Click the following link to easily send us your large files:
There are a variety of ways to get your digital file information to us.More
It is as simple as providing a file in a useable format that is full size (100%) at 150DPI (Dots Per Inch) and we can go from there. As simple as it is, there are still a few things that are hard for us to work around:
Aspect Ratio – The height and width have to grow in proportion. Creating a 24×36 poster from a 12×12 image will require cropping on the sides. We can help, but we don’t know what part of the image you are willing to lose, so it is best if you do your own cropping.
Resolution – This is probably the most common file issue we encounter that delays projects. View at 100% and pan around on the monitor, it is better to find something unacceptable before it is printed.
Brightness – When your project is printed it will not be as bright as it is on your monitor with light projecting through it.
Linked Files & Fonts – It is common with applications like Adobe Illustrator for files and fonts to be externally linked, but those links are lost when the file is transferred. Please create outlines and place images into the file.
HERE ARE MORE IN-DEPTH FILE PREPARATION TIPS:
RASTER vs VECTOR:
The above rule will help with “commonly used” software using Raster or “Dots per inch” data. And, generally works well with professional products as well. If you are using specialized professional software to create Vector Art, some of these rules can change. Contact us if you have questions.
PROPORTIONALITY OR ASPECT RATIOS:
A square is a square and a rectangle is a rectangle. We can’t turn one into the other without cropping out a portion. And, we can’t change the proportionality of a rectangle without cropping out a portion. For example, these common rectangular sizes follow the same Proportionality: (We can do uncommon sizes too)
12”x18” – 18”x24”- 24”x36” – 36”x48” – 48”X72”
11”x17” – 17”x22” – 22”x34” – 34”x44” – 44”x68”
10”x14” – 14”x20” – 20”x28” – 28”x40” – 40”x56”
Squares are easy. However, with Triangles, Pentagons and Octagons; contact us, or your High School Geometry Teacher.
PROFESSIONAL SOFTWARE USERS:
The following file types provide the best quality output:
Vector art is always better when increasing sizes. If you are working from another software, please save, convert or export to any of the above files types. Contact us if you have any questions.

"Everyone in this agency loves the Digital Fringe. Your work is great and you are completely reliable, which is rare in this business. When we ask for a product at a specific time, we can rely on it being here and we don’t have to keep calling and checking on it." - RS
"I just wanted to extend my appreciation for your extraordinary response to our trade show graphics request. Over some forty years of expediting last minute details for far flung trade shows, they have seldom been exactly right and almost always meant hand-carrying to ensure arrival on-time. Your team at TDF performed a bit of magic for us. We received our graphics in hours rather than days. They are correct. And, your delivery – in less time than I could have hoped for, let alone asked for – has allowed us to ship these final graphics along with the rest of our display. Thank-you! It is always a special treat to connect with a vendor that values service beyond expectation. " - DM
"Thanks again for your help the displays. You are the most dependable vendor I've ever worked with in my 28 years in business. And fun too." - J
"We wanted to send you a quick email to tell you that everyone loved the archive room and the picture boards you did for us. Thank- you to you and your staff." - DW
